Individual Therapy for Teens and Young Adults
Individual therapy provides a safe, supportive environment where teens can openly express their thoughts and feelings, gain insight, develop coping skills, and improve their overall well-being. This personalized, one-on-one therapeutic process supports adolescents in addressing emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges.
Benefits
Individual therapy provides adolescents with essential tools for emotional and mental well-being, helping them navigate the unique challenges of their developmental stage and laying the groundwork for a healthy transition into adulthood.
Foster Growth & Confidence
Through individual therapy, adolescents will gain greater self awareness, healthier relationships and enhanced social skills. It provides a safe space to explore emotions, fostering resilience and confidence during a pivotal stage of growth.
Strengthen the Mind
Individual therapy supports the development of the prefrontal cortex, improving emotional regulation, decision-making, and executive functioning. This growth equips teens with the tools to manage challenges effectively and build a foundation for long-term success.
Promote Emotional Well-Being
Individual therapy enhances emotional health, providing tools to manage feelings effectively. It also helps reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, offering support for a more balanced and positive outlook.
Manage Stress
Individual therapy fosters cognitive flexibility and resilience to stress, helping them adapt to challenges with a more balanced and resourceful mindset.
Fees and Insurance
Pricing
The one-time initial intake appointment—which includes a 60-90 minute session, as well as time spent outside of session reviewing background information and records is $275.
Ongoing 50-minute therapy sessions following the intake range from $200 to $250 per session based on the provider’s experience. The 4-6 week parent check-ins are built into this price.
Our clinical director will walk you through provider availability and associated fees during your initial consultation call to ensure the best fit for your child and family.
Insurance
We are an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. However, we are happy to provide you with a superbill (itemized receipt) that you can submit to your PPO insurance, FSA, or HSA for potential reimbursement.
Please note that HMO and EPO plans typically do not reimburse for out-of-network services, so we recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to understand your benefits.
How can individual therapy help?
The goal is to provide a safe, supportive environment where teens can openly express their thoughts and feelings, gain insight, develop coping skills, and improve their overall well-being.
Patient goals are often collaboratively set and periodically reviewed, helping adolescents see their progress.
How long does individual therapy last?
Individual Therapy is conducted through regular, private sessions between the therapist and the adolescent. Sessions last 50 minutes and occur weekly, but frequency can depend on the needs of the individual.
Therapy can be both short-term (a few sessions to address specific issues) or long-term (several months to years for deeper work on complex or long-standing challenges). Duration depends on the adolescent's progress and therapeutic goals.
