Our Process

How it works

At Kincove, we understand that taking the first step in seeking support can feel overwhelming. That’s why we’ve designed a clear, compassionate, and structured process to guide families through therapy, ensuring your adolescent receives the care and tools they need to thrive.

  • Your journey begins with a free 20-minute phone consultation. During this call, you’ll speak with one of our team members to:

    • Share your primary concerns and goals for seeking therapy.

    • Learn about our services and approach.

    • Determine if Kincove is the right fit for your family.

  • The next step is a meeting with our Clinical Director either in person or via zoom. During this session, we will:

    • Assess your adolescent’s needs and challenges.

    • Gather important information about your family dynamics, history, and goals for therapy.

    • Determine the best combination of modalities (such as individual therapy, group therapy, neurofeedback, or family therapy) to meet your adolescent’s unique needs.

    • Match your teen or family with the right therapist.

This personalized approach ensures that your adolescent is matched with the right therapist and right treatment modalities from the outset

  • Once a therapist is selected, an intake session is scheduled. This meeting involves both parents and the adolescent and serves to:

    • Build rapport and establish a foundation of trust.

    • Discuss the adolescent’s concerns, strengths, and goals in more detail.

    • Set expectations for therapy and answer any questions you or your adolescent may have.

A personalized treatment plan is developed, outlining therapy goals, recommended modalities, and progress tracking methods.

  • After the intake session, your adolescent begins their therapeutic journey. Depending on the treatment plan established during the intake, this could include:

    • Individual Therapy: A space for your adolescent to explore their emotions, challenges, and goals with their therapist.

    • Family Therapy: Sessions focused on improving communication and strengthening family relationships.

    • Group Therapy: Opportunities to connect with peers and build social-emotional skills.

    • Neurofeedback or Other Specialized Modalities: Brain-based interventions tailored to your adolescent’s needs.

    • Regular therapist check-ins to review growth and refine treatment goals

    • Parent and adolescent feedback to align therapy with evolving needs

    • Evidence-based assessments, goal-tracking tools, and neurofeedback data to measure improvements and inform next steps

Our goal is to ensure your adolescent feels supported and empowered in every step of the process.

Throughout this process there will also be…

Parental Involvement

We believe that parents play an essential role in their adolescent’s growth. Your child’s therapist will meet with you consistently to discuss progress and provide guidance.

  • For younger adolescents or those facing significant challenges, parent sessions may occur weekly.

  • For older adolescents or less complex issues, sessions may be scheduled less frequently, such as once every few months.

These meetings ensure that you are informed, supported, and equipped to reinforce your adolescent’s progress at home.

Progress Tracking

We use evidence-based tools to track your adolescent’s growth over time:

  • Initial Questionnaires: Before therapy begins, you and your adolescent will complete questionnaires to establish a baseline for their emotional and behavioral well-being.

  • 8-Week Reassessments: After eight weeks of therapy, follow-up questionnaires will measure progress, and the treatment plan will be adjusted as needed to ensure continued growth.

This data-driven approach allows us to tailor therapy to your adolescent’s evolving needs and celebrate milestones along the way.
