Our Process

At Kincove, we recognize how daunting the first steps toward support can feel. That’s why our process is designed to be empathetic, transparent, and carefully structured to support both adolescents and their families. We begin by matching each teen or young adult with a clinician who aligns with their unique needs, while ensuring parents always have clarity and guidance along the way. Our goal is simple: create a secure, trusted path toward emotional growth, connection, and wellbeing.

How it Works

  • First, you’ll start with a free 20-minute consultation call, during which you’ll share your primary concerns and goals, learn more about our approach, and decide whether Kincove feels like a good fit for your family.

  • Next, we meet with our Clinical Director, in person or via Zoom, to conduct a more in-depth assessment. Together, we explore your teen’s history, strengths, challenges, and family context. From this, we design a personalized plan and identify the modalities most likely to help (such as individual therapy, family therapy, neurofeedback, or group work). We then carefully match your adolescent with a therapist whose specialty and style align with this plan.

  • Once the match is made, an intake session brings together the adolescent and their parent(s). This first session establishes rapport, clarifies expectations, and deepens understanding of the youth’s concerns, strengths, and goals. Together, we construct a living treatment plan with measurable goals and recommended modalities.

  • After intake, therapy begins. Depending on the treatment plan, your teen may engage in individual therapy, family therapy, group sessions, or neurofeedback / specialized modalities. Each service is tailored to their evolving needs, and we remain responsive as progress unfolds.

    • Finally, throughout treatment, we maintain ongoing goal and progress tracking. Therapists conduct regular check-ins, track growth using validated assessments and, when applicable, neurofeedback data, and solicit feedback from both adolescent and parent to fine-tune the approach.

We’re committed to ensuring every adolescent feels seen, supported, and empowered throughout each phase of their growth.

Throughout this process there will also be…

Parental Involvement

We believe meaningful growth happens when caregivers are involved. Parents and caregivers meet regularly with the therapist to review progress, learn supportive strategies, and stay connected to their child’s care. This collaboration helps reinforce growth at home and strengthens long term outcomes.

Progress Tracking & Adaptation

We use evidence based tools to understand each client’s emotional, behavioral, and cognitive growth. Progress is reviewed regularly so goals and strategies can be adjusted as needed, ensuring therapy stays responsive and effective over time.
