What types of therapy do you offer?
Our therapists are trained in multiple modalities and will work with the client to determine best fit. Approaches are psychodynamic (focus on emotions and where they come from) and neurobiologically-informed. Strategies from CBT and DBT might be brought in based on the patients’ needs.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Therapy can be beneficial for anyone looking to understand themselves better, working through specific challenges, or simply develop healthier coping skills.

How long are therapy sessions?
Individual Therapy is generally 50 minutes, however, on a case by case basis will do 80 minute sessions. Family therapy is 50 to 80 minutes depending on patient needs.

Does Kincove accept insurance?
Unfortunately, we do not take insurance. However, we offer superbills which can be submitted to insurance for reimbursement. Patients can work with our client coordinator to help with this process.

What is Kincove’s cancellation policy?
We have 24-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel within this window, full cost of session will be charged. We will do our best to accomodate rescheduled appointments within that same week if desired.

Can I request a specific therapist?
Yes! We will do our best to accommodate these requests. We will indicate if a therapist is full and is no longer accepting new patients.

How often should I go to therapy?
Depends on individual needs, goals, and level of support required. We will make our recommendations but this is always up to you. If you are looking for more progress in a shorter period of time, we might recommend twice weekly sessions or other services such as group therapy or neurofeedback.

What are the common areas of focus at Kincove?
Anxiety, Depression, focus and attention/ADHD, identity development, transition from adolescence to adulthood, relationship issues, family conflict, stress management.

What can I do between sessions to support my therapy process?
Cornerstones of mental health are good sleep and adequate nutrition. We also suggest meditating or, journaling. Ask your therapist if you want specific recommendations.

How do I prepare for my first therapy session?
No need to prepare! Come as you are. If it’s helpful, think of what you want to get from therapy.

Is therapy confidential?
Yes - completely confidential outside of threat to self or others or if we hear about child or elder abuse.

Do you offer telehealth?
Yes. If you would prefer to meet over a secure video call, we also offer a telehealth option for individual and family therapy.
