Individual Therapy for Young Adults
Supporting Los Angeles young adults navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, ADHD, relationships, identity, independence, and the pressure of trying to find your footing.
The Young Adult Years are Filled with Uncertainty
Young adulthood can bring more freedom and possibility, but also more decisions, responsibility, and uncertainty. Careers are beginning, relationships are changing, friendships look different, family roles are shifting, and there can be a lot of pressure to know what you want before you actually do.
You can be doing well on paper while still feeling anxious, stuck, disconnected, or unsure of yourself. Maybe you're questioning your choices, comparing yourself to everyone around you, struggling in relationships, or wondering why you don't feel as good as you thought you would.
Therapy gives you a place to better understand yourself, recognize patterns that may be getting in the way, and get clearer about what you want for yourself.

What Brings Young Adults to Kincove?
The challenges of young adulthood can show up in different parts of your life, from how you feel about yourself to relationships, family, work, and what comes next.
Anxiety, Overthinking & Self-Doubt
Replaying conversations, anticipating what could go wrong, second-guessing decisions, or spending so much time thinking about what to do that it's hard to trust yourself.
Depression, Burnout & Disconnection
Feeling exhausted by things that used to feel manageable, losing interest or motivation, isolating more, or keeping up with life while feeling disconnected from it.
Neurodivergence & Executive Functioning
Understanding how your brain works while managing the demands of adult life, including routines, time, organization, work or school, finances, and responsibilities that come with less outside structure.
OCD & Intrusive Thoughts
Getting caught in unwanted thoughts, mental checking, reassurance seeking, rumination, rituals, or cycles of doubt that take up more time and energy than others may realize.
Identity, Self-Worth & Finding Your Own Voice
Figuring out what you actually want, separating your sense of self from achievement or others' expectations, and trusting your own choices.
Dating, Friendships & Relationship Patterns
People-pleasing, attachment and relationship anxiety, difficulty setting boundaries, breakups, changing friendships, or noticing the same patterns with different people.
Family Dynamics & Independence
Setting boundaries without guilt, relying on family while wanting more autonomy, and navigating changing relationships and expectations as an adult.
Transitions, Direction & Comparison
Graduating, changing careers, moving, making decisions about what's next, comparing your path to others, or questioning whether you're where you thought you'd be by now.
What Therapy Looks Like
Young adulthood often involves figuring out what you actually want while letting go of what you thought your life was supposed to look like. Therapy gives you space to understand the relationships, experiences, expectations, and patterns that may be influencing how you feel and the choices you make.
Our therapists work relationally, helping you explore what's happening now while also understanding where certain patterns come from and why they can be difficult to change. We draw from psychodynamic therapy, ACT, DBT, CBT, and other approaches based on what is most useful for you.
Your therapist will listen, ask questions, offer perspective, and help you develop a stronger understanding of yourself and the life and relationships you want to build.
